While working as a delivery man at a local appliance store, Michael Federico's customers expressed the need for a dependable moving company. With one truck and two helpers, he concentrates on becoming a reliable household mover for local residents. Liberty Moving & Storage was started on Liberty Avenue in Jamacia, NY.
After returning home from the Army, Michael Federico Jr. joins Liberty Moving & Storage at the age of 21.
Michael Federico Jr. becomes President at Liberty Moving & Storage. With the help of Treasurer and partner, Thomas Aleo, Liberty embarks on a growth phase that takes the company from 8 to 100 employees.
Michael Federico's two sons, Michael III and Anthony join Liberty Moving & Storage. They begin their career loading trucks, learning the business from the ground up.
Michael Federico III is appointed VP of Commercial Sales. Anthony Federico is appointed VP of Household Sales and National Accounts. They are responsible for a second major growth phase that effectively doubles the company's size.
Liberty is named the largest household booking agent for Allied Van Lines.
After 25 years as a successful Allied Agent, Liberty Moving & Storage changes its affiliation to United Van Lines, the #1 Van Line in the country.
Liberty moves into its new state-of-the-art headquarters. The company wins the United Van Lines' "Heart of Quality Award" and Masters Club recognition for its top sales achievements.
Liberty expands and opens a second location in Wayne, NJ.
Michael Federico III and Anthony Federico become co-owners of Liberty Moving & Storage.
