Liberty Moving Green

Throughout our history, Liberty Moving and Storage has conducted its business in a socially responsible manner. As part of our mission, we area true believer in taking a stake in the communities we serve.

The Liberty Moving Green Program is a company wide effort to identify areas where we can be more environmentally conscious in the operation of our business. Our Green Moving Panel meets monthly to discuss ways we can reduce waste, cut energy consumption and purchase supplies in a more environmentally sound fashion.

Following are some of the things we’re trying to do to be a more environmentally friendly moving company in the NY communities we serve:

Green Materials

• Offering customers reused or recycled boxes
• Utilizing plastic crates for commercial moves
• Providing organic bubble wrap for packing fragile items
• Providing moving pads made of recycled cotton
• Substituting newsprint or old sheets/towels for bubble wrap on certain non-fragile items

Green Trucking

• Powering trucks with bio-fuels
• Promotion of practical routing of trucks
• Progressive shifting procedures
• Enforcing strict rules for vehicle idling
• Incentives for drivers to perform green maintenance.

Green Facilities

• Recycling of old wooden pallets
• Usage of motion sensor lighting throughout warehouse
• Institution of paperwork reduction policies
